Children at Ashcroft are encouraged to eat healthily.  Children can choose either a school meal or to bring a packed lunch from home. 

School Meals

Since the introduction of Universal Free School meals in 2014, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal.

The current menu is displayed below so that you and your child can make informed choices. Our meals are varied, tasty and nutritious and include a daily salad bar from which your child can choose additional items. The school menu is also available on Class Dojo each week. 

We have our own in-house catering which allows us to be more creative with our menus, offering the types of food that we know our children like and allowing us to have a greater variety of fresh produce to choose from. It also means that our catering staff are part of the Ashcroft Infant School Team. Our catering staff hold Theme Days, Taster Days and other offers and promotions, so please keep a look-out on our school newsletter.

Should your child have food allergies, he/she may need a special menu which our cooks can prepare.

Packed Lunch

If your child brings a packed lunch, please name the lunch bag and any containers. Please do not send glass containers, fizzy drinks or sweets.  Please note that we are a nut-free school and there are children attending who have severe allergic reactions, so please do not send any nut products into school.  

Fruit

Each day your child will be offered free fresh fruit.
